NOTE:* In 1973-74, the Montana Legislature met in annual sessions, as provided for in the 1972 Montana Constitution. But opponents of annual sessions proposed a constitutional initiative to return the Legislature to 90-day biennial sessions. Montana voters approved the initiative by a slim margin at the November 1974 election.
